The origin of monotheism
BEFORE Christian, Jewish and Islamic denominations; in fact BEFORE idolatry EVER existed, there was only ONE faith...ONE religion.....monotheism. The worship of ONE true God, the God who created the material universe, consciousness, chemical, geological, spiritual and biological life forms.
This VERY God created heavenly AND earthly creatures to WORSHIP and PRAISE Him. THIS honor befell the angels first, BEFORE it was extended to mankind. At a certain point in time a THIRD of the angels in heaven followed the head of the angels known as Lucifer, to REVOLT against their Creator. AFTER this Lucifer’s name was changed to Satan….the prince of darkness, who was the representative of evil and the EXTREME opposite of God. THIS I might add he has earned by his OWN free will; he was NOT forced to become what he is known as today.
AFTER the fall of Lucifer and HIS followers, he was defeated by God and the two-thirds of the angels that stayed faithful to their Creator. As punishment for THIS betrayal, God cast the devil down to the earth. THIS decision of God empowered the devil to lead man in a revolt against God. Man lost his immortality, holiness, perfect state of mind, thought, soul and body. Most ironically of all, man became estranged from his Creator, and as his wickedness reached ALARMING levels, he turned his back on God, and started worshipping false gods, foreign gods, shrines, false images and idols.
No wonder God WARNED the prophet Moses in 1490 BC that HIS chosen people, the Hebrews, should NOT worship foreign gods; become idolaters as recorded in Exodus 20:1-6. They were NOT to worship them OR bow down to them. The consequences of SUCH an act would have DEVASTATING repercussions for SUCH a person OR people. THIS commandment is STILL in place and will ONLY be recalled on the NEW earth….sin would NO longer prevail because the prince of darkness…Satan, the beast and the false prophet would be locked away for eternity in the flames of hell; SO also will be the souls who SERVED the devil during their natural life- times.
BEFORE God there was NO other god, and AFTER Him there will ALSO be NO other god as recorded in Isaiah 43:10: “Ye are my witnesses, saith the LORD, and my servant whom I have chosen: that ye may know and believe me, and understand that I am he: before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me.” True worship and praise started among the angels in heaven. ANY other religion BUT monotheism, is BETRAYAL against the God who created heaven and earth!
